Pemphigoid gestationis is a rare autoimmune blistering disease. It occurs in the second or third trimester and during the puerperium. It may be associated with fetal risk due to placental failure. Clinically it presents with a polymorphous and pruritic rash that starts in the periumbilical region with subsequent formation of tense blisters and variable extension. Diagnosis is based on clinical findings, histopathology and direct immunofluorescence of healthy perilesional skin. We present the case of a 37-year-old female patient who developed pemphigoid gestationis in the third trimester of pregnancy.
