Abstract

I kept scratching those spots of a few millimeters whose color varied from red to whitish pink depending on the light, the time of day or how hydrated or dry my skin was, until I bled. I realized then that they were not wheals or pimples, as I had thought at first, but a scaly surface. The fingernails had broken the tiny plates, resembling a wound scar, causing light bleeding. Some very dense drops that dried immediately and formed a horrible black scab that I also tore off, letting it bleed again. Scratching makes everything worse, but there is no one who can resist.
