Abstract

Progesterone hypersensitivity is a heterogeneous clinical entity with pathophysiology, diagnostic and treatment challenges. Its presentation is associated with increased endogenous progesterone in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, in pregnancy or with the administration to exogenous progestogens. With an increasing prevalence, which may be due to the increasing use of medical treatments that generate greater exposure to supraphysiological doses of this hormone, we present the patient's clinical case, who during a distant puerperium and 72hs after the application of Medroxyprogesterone acetate developed erythematous-violaceous plaque and urticarial lesions on the buttocks and thighs.
