Abstract

Miescher's granulomatous cheilitis is a rare entity with a chronic course and uncertain prognosis. It is more frequent in women and begins during the second or third decade of life. It consists of the appearance of recurrent lip edema in one or both lips, which becomes persistent. It is considered the mono or oligosymptomatic form of Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome (MRS) whose triad is characterized by recurrent lip and/or facial edema, peripheral facial paralysis, and fissured tongue. The treatment constitutes a therapeutic challenge, with no short-term response.

We present 7 cases with a diagnosis of QGM, and their results are compared with each of the established treatments.
