Anti-p200 pemphigoid is an autoimmune subepidermal bullous disease characterized by autoantibodies targeting a 200-kDa protein localized at the lamina lucida of the basement membrane zone. The diagnosis is confirmed by immunoblot, which is a complex technique available in only few centers of the world. Therefore, there are not many reported cases of this pathology.
The incorporation of the immunohistochemical with collagen type IV technic, along with the other diagnostic methods (clinic, histopathology and immunofluorescence with salt split technic) allowed to reach at the probable diagnosis of anti-p200 pemphigoid in two patients.
