Abstract

Verrucous carcinoma is an unusual, well-differentiated, low-grade variant of squamous cell carcinoma. It presents as a large, exophytic, verrucous tumoral mass. The plantar type is characterized by its slow growth and low metastatic potential; nonetheless, it is locally aggressive. Many authors consider it a synonym of carcinoma cuniculatum, while others argue that they are two separate entities that can be distinguished by their clinical and histopathological features. We present the case of a patient with a plantar verrucous carcinoma.
