Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis, IgG-related head and neck disease
Keywords:
angiocentric fibrosis, IgG related diseaseAbstract
Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis is a fibrosing inflammatory condition of the upper airways, sinuses, orbit, salivary and lacrimal glands, with cutaneous involvement usually over the nose; there is nasal deformation and obstruction, with erythematous plaques on its surface. It is of rare observation; less than 60 cases have been published, and it is included within the group of IgG4-related diseases. We present the case of an adult woman with facial skin involvement and respiratory obstructive symptoms, with normal serum IgG4, and a satisfactory response to methotrexate.
