Abstract

Dr. Saldaña owed him money lost at the gambling table, so he attended him for free and did not charge him for the preparations that he himself manufactured. Aarón did not resort to him because he did not charge him but because Saldaña was applying a new method to cure the French morbidity. "A night with Venus, a life with Mercury," the doctor had expressed after confirming the diagnosis. However, the novelty of his prophylaxis focused on the use of arsenic - in addition to mercury plasters, ingestion and vapors - whose sweating gave off a slight apricot aroma.
