Abstract

Oral minoxidil is used alone or in combination with other therapies for the treatment of androgenic alopecia in men and women. The daily dose varies between 0.25 mg and 2.5-5 mg.
In this study, a dose of 1.25 mg / day was used as monotherapy for 24 weeks.
Thirty-two patients aged 18 to 45 years were included, of which 18 (56.2%) had never received treatment, while in 14 (43.8%) previous treatment with topical minoxidil 5% twice a day had failed. as monotherapy or with oral finasteride for at least 1.5 to 2 years.
