Abstract

The wound was a pink and mother-of-pearl lamp on the knee. Emilio passed him a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and the bubbles covered the surface. With a smooth movement he stretched Manu's leg and brought his mouth close and blew. He was so close that he smelled the sweet smell of open flesh. He put the boy's leg on his thigh as he rummaged in the medicine cabinet, propped up on the wooden bench, and took out gauze and duct tape and merthiolate. Manu followed his movements. When he covered the wound tightly, he patted her ankle.
