Abstract

As inheritors of the Hippocratic tradition, we doctors are faced with illness, pain and death from a very early age. Modernity has positively modified and expanded this vision, and has introduced a much more complete, and at the same time complex, conception of our role in health care. Primary prevention and "health care" aimed at providing secondary prevention that is more efficient and cost-effective every day, has allowed us to "prolong life, with quality of life." Dermatology has not been immune to these advances, with great advances in all its areas of influence.
