Abstract

Author of numerous novels with an autobiographical tone, with a crude, erotic and unfiltered style, he marked a break with the puritanical society that prevailed in the United States at that time. To such an extent that his first novel, Tropic of Cancer, written during his stay in Paris, was banned for obscenity in his homeland until 1961.
