Abstract

Endometriosis is defined as the growth of endometrial glands and stroma, outside the uterine cavity. It is the second gynecological pathology in frequency in women of reproductive age, and it can affect intra and extra-pelvic anatomical sites. Endometriosis over a scar from gynecological surgery or cesarean section is rare. It presents as erythematous-violaceous or normal-colored nodules, which becomes congested and causes pain in relation to menstruation. The definitive diagnosis depends on the histopathological study; and its treatment consists of complete surgical resection. We report two cases of female patients diagnosed with endometriosis on a previous episiotomy scar.
