Abstract

The aseptic and alopecic nodules of the scalp (AANS) are a recently described entity, little known and probably underdiagnosed. It affects young adults, with a predominance of males. They are characterized by the presence of one or several dome-shaped nodules, firm or fluctuating, containing filamentous and aseptic material, associated with alopecia and surrounded by normal scalp. We describe the clinical, ultrasound, histopathological findings, with special emphasis on the trichoscopy, of 5 patients with a diagnosis of AANS.
