Abstract

Nocardiosis is a localized or disseminated rare infection, caused by gram-positive aerobic bacteria. It can occur in immunocompetent or more frequently in immunocompromised hosts. This infection mainly affects lung, central nervous system (CNS) and skin. We report a case of a patient with a history of pemphigus vulgaris in prolonged treatment with corticosteroids and immunosuppressants that presented disseminated infection of Nocardia transvalensis.
