Unusual clinical presentations of discoid lupus erythematosus
Keywords:
chronic discoid lupus erythematosus, scarsAbstract
Discoid lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune, photosensitive and polymorphous chronic disease. An early diagnosis and identification of the different types of scars in these patients may change it management, by using a more aggressive therapy to eliminate the activity of the disease and thus avoid the unaesthetic sequelae that these involve. We present two patients with histological diagnosis of DLE, with atypical healing patterns, without systemic compromise, with good response to established treatment, but persistent scar lesions.
