Verrucous carcinoma on the palm
Keywords:
palm, cuniculatum carcinoma, verrucous carcinomaAbstract
Verrucous carcinoma is a rare and well differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). It presents local aggressiveness and poor capacity to metastasize. It manifests as a keratotic exophytic tumor, with multiple sinus tracts that drain a smelly keratotic material. The diagnosis is generally late because it simulates benign lesions and superficial biopsies are insufficient. The treatment of choice is wide surgical excision.A 61 years old male patient is presented with a lesion on the left palm, clinically and histologically consistent with warty carcinoma, a rare location of this entity.
