Abstract

Differential diagnosis of genital ulcers is broad and includes infectious and non-infectious diseases. These different diseases are known as a whole as genital ulcer disease (GUD). The infectious etiology includes classic STD causing erotions and ulcers (HSV, primary syphilis, chancroid, LGV) and non STD infections like Epstein Barr, citomegalovirus, HIV, leishmanias y micobacterium among others. Among non infectious causes of GUD Behçet, pioderma gangrenosum, inflammatory bowel disease are found. A clinical case of a classic genital female chancre and its anatomopáthological features in the context of GUD is presented.
