Abstract

Cutaneous epithelioid hemangioendothelioma is a rare malignant vascular tumor. It was described in 1986 by Sharon Weiss and Franz Enziger and previously considered intermediate aggressive, but its high metastatic capacity justifies its inclusion in the group of malignant lesions. It usually appears in adolescents and young adults.  It usually affects soft tissues and less frequently the lung and liver. The diagnosis is histological and the epithelioid appearance of the neoplastic endothelial cells and the tendency to form vascular channels are characteristic. Treatment is surgery with wide margins. This tumor exceptionally affects the skin, with few cases, described in the medical literature.
