Abstract

A practical guide is presented for everyday work in the follow-up of melanoma patients. It was developed in an interdisciplinary manner by the Skin Cancer Center of the Austral University Hospital to provide standardized management for our patients. To create it, we based our work on the NCCN Guidelines© on melanoma and the Clinical Practice Guidelines from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition, on the usual discussion of patients in the athenaeums and with an ad hoc commission of experts for its drafting. It includes risk factors, diagnostic criteria, and sentinel lymph node indication. Patients are then divided into low, medium, and high-risk categories according to staging and follow-up recommendations.
