Abstract

Pustular psoriasis is a rare and clinically challenging form of psoriasis, as its diagnosis and treatment can be complex due to its unusual presentation and the possibility of associations with other pathologies. An uncommon relationship between pustular psoriasis and central nervous system tumors has been observed; however, to date, no publications have been found describing its association with astrocytoma.  Astrocytoma is a central nervous system tumor that develops from cells called astrocytes. This association may represent a diagnostic challenge due to the possibility of atypical cutaneous manifestations in patients with underlying neurological pathology, as well as a therapeutic challenge requiring a coordinated approach for the management of both conditions. We present the case of a 40-year-old female patient who developed pustular psoriasis in the context of a grade IV pilocytic astrocytoma. The clinical manifestations and the treatment strategies used in this context are discussed.
