Allergic contact dermatitis due to acrylates/methacrylates in long-lasting nail polish
Keywords:
acrylates, allergic contact dermatitis, long-lasting nail polish, methacrylatesAbstract
In recent years, the use of semi-permanent enamels containing curable UV acrylates has become popular, so that consultations for dermatological alterations associated with them have also increased, both in users and beauticians who apply them. Therefore, we decided to present the results obtained in 13 patients who were testified in five centers of Argentina during July 2018 to June 2019, with suspicion of allergic contact dermatitis, with complete or bounded acrylated
batteries. We consider that is very important to inform dermatologists, users and estheticians to recognize these types of injuries, and to discourage the use of homemade kits and implement primary and secondary prevention policies.
