Abstract

Hypertrophic lichen planus (LPH) is a rare clinical variant of lichen planus (LP) in children, characterized by the presence of polygonal papules and hyperkeratotic plaques with a warty appearance, purplish-brown or grayish, pruritic, symmetrically distributed, mainly on the lower limbs. Its diagnosis is clinical and confirmed by histopathological study. Currently there is no standardized treatment in pediatrics. We present an 11-year-old patient, previously healthy, with a clinical and histopathological diagnosis of LPH who showed a good response to treatment with narrow-band UVB phototherapy and systemic corticosteroids.
