Leucemia / linfoma de células T del adulto. Asociación con el virus HTLV1

Resumen

La leucemia/linfoma de células T del adulto (LLTA) es una neoplasia de linfocitos T maduros que se asocia al virus linfotrópico humano de células T de tipo 1 (HTLV1). Es muy agresiva, con una corta sobrevida en la mayoría de los casos y es resistente a la quimioterapia. No produce lesiones características en la piel, donde suele simular linfomas cutáneos de células T (LCCT) u otras dermatosis, y la afecta en el 43% a 72% de los casos. En la Argentina, en especial en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, debe considerarse una patología emergente debido a la mayor circulación del virus por la inmigración desde lugares endémicos.
